MYPAGE ~ Why not expand it into your own URL website???

With having AAW & AAW2 as main sites for everyone, we are taking it to the next level by making 'our own sites', which is more of an expansion of the MYPage.

That is the purpose of making our own ning websites.

Tthey should be ours 'personally' & we each then have control over the content.

That makes it so we can 'do our own thing' sort of & protects our names.

Those who might join our personal sites then in effect become 'our' fans & still get their own MYPAGE as well.

We can then place 'our personal URL' into any MyPage profile & thus we all can become 'linked'.

With the added benefit of having our own URL's we can put up our stores ,auctions, other websites & keep the GALLERY for our own use.

This makes it possible to use our sites as our business & or family sites as well.

Then we each can 'share' our gallery with the embedded codes they give & place our gallery on our other MYPAGE on any Ning site we join,

If every member here, gets their own Ning website, & post the URL into their profile here, it
helps us be better organized.

It will enhance our efforts and endeavours while participating on other networks as well.

Now when I join another network/club etc., I can build new MyPage in few minutes by pasting info already stored on my own website, then copied and brought to the new site..

Duplication is much faster and easier & then it becomes more of a 'presense' on the sites joined.

We can each do that.

What is good is that on our own webpages, we can add in as many other sites as we please & set up our own networks, free of monthly charges.

I think many people who join Ning dont realize that & instead just keep looking to join dozens of sites & soon can't keep up with them all.

Now I belong to more than 20 Ning sites, so far & often dont get back to some for days, but since I made my own ning website, I now write the blog on mine & simply copy it to the others, so I get to visit all my websites sooner and then check my email at those sites on the site, rather than having them forwarded to my email addy, since that too was getting overcrowded. I keep mail from each site on each site.

Likewise I load pictures onto my personl website & simply copy the 'share' embedded code to put up on other ning MyPage sites .

hi Ave im having problems with my page. icant load my addy or put down the addy for the page. it is a mess. help!!!!!!!!!!!!! ps nudes are no problem if ppl want to upload that on my site. hugs and a big hug for your help. jamiewinter

Also, with sites not carrying ratings to prevent children from access, nudes should be 'art' and careful not to be porn like or Ning might delete the site, if it is open like ours are. If a person wants to put up nudes, they have to be sure to check whether it is family friendly or not when adding their pictures, I think, but I will have to check with Ning to be sure since most other networks have some rules about it..Not to say paintings of nudes is okay, just graphic display of genitalia is not a good idea to have on a multi cultural site. Use wisdom and discretion~!Tasteful artwork that is of nudes no one has a problem with. Graphic nudity should be set to 'private'

I belong to PhotoSig.com and they had some legal issues over nudity in photographs and were forced to place blocks on them so no one under 18 could accidentally see them. I dont know how they did that, but it caused a ruckus on their site.

It has been fun setting up the sites and like was it yesterday or this morning Jamie when we played tag all over the new websites, just missing each other as we did our visiting.. It does add a new dimension to this style of networking and surely can only help all of us...
Jamie, if we can get each member just through launching their site, thats the hardest part. When I have rested a bit I will try to make an easy tutorial with links that might make it easier for members to join through..If not , there will be some who will need us to open up shop for them, so that is a very generous offer from you and certainly one that will be needed...

Phil, I found out how to transfer ownership of sites now. It is a process that Ning does and we each participate in, I notify them I want to give it to you [AAW2] & they have me do some form & then then send another back for me to forward to you with a link you use to go to them and all you have to do is 'accept'... You should own both as I only opened it to help you when we had the overload. I am more of a background person, a helper, not a leader...so I think I have you regular email addy in my [e-mail] acct, if that is the same as your ning id email??? I will email you about it.

I have been in the background alot lately as I am now helping artists build their own nings!
As I figure out new features for the ning sites, I am sharing them on the website owners group here at AAW. As you know Phil has entrusted me to help with this site since last Fall, so I have been busy learning how to make Ning better for all of us.

If everyone has an AAW Member Site- we each will be able to do so much more networking, streamlined and faster as we all lead busy lives.

Have your own Ning interlinked with AAW, if you entrust me to be a technical Administrator I can add features to make your site special for you.

Along with being linked to AAW as the 'mother ship' you will be exposed to alot more traffic on your site as well as being able to better show what you have to all who visit it.
I am organizing sites, adding music, sitemaps, categories, multiple galleries, as well as tieing your other outside of ning sites such as stores, auctions,shops right onto your own Ning so that you can use it as a HUB for all your online activities, speedily.
