On Ebay one night I painted one page of aceo's on a 9x12 acrylic and fitted 8 pictures on one page, painted them in less than 2 hours and when they sold they averaged $15-18 each so that page was a good investment in my time. I also used the digitals of them to sell again as signed prints and so the potential for those few hours hasn't ended yet.
sometimes after clear coating a print with spray gloss, I also use a 10/0 brush and embellish the foreground of the print with paint, making it into a new cross media original too. Some of those come out better than the original painting and have greater depth.

When I make Giclee individual printings of my ACEO's I preset up the exact size and resolution of the print and create the backing at the same time with my artist contact info and if a limited edtion mark it as such and then print the art like the picture shown. After it dries, I clear coat it and then fold it, glue it shut with acid free glue stick and then 'edge' it on my cutter.
I get my pvc-free clear sleeves in bulk from Ebay and then place the card in that for shipping.

Also sometimes when I want to do a series, I used acrylic 9x12 pad and draw lines for the size of the painting and do several paintings at once, like a continous sunset across a lake or mountain range..or flowers or even a village.

Then when it is dry. I cut it to size and have small series or tryptichs to sell as originals. They sold very well on Ebay and Plunderhere.

Have a great day~!

Delete Hi Kathleen,

Here's a bit of info on ACEO's...

An Art Card is a small pocket-sized piece of art.

They are commonly know as ACEO's (Art Cards, Editions & Originals), or as ATC's (Artist Trading Cards).

ATC's are normally Originals and are most often traded between artists.

ACEO's can also be traded, but are frequently offered for sale. They can be Original Artwork or prints/reproductions of Original Artwork. ACEO cards are bought, sold and traded all over the World.

The Official Standard Size of an Art Card is 2.5" inches by 3.5" inches, (64 x 89 mm), and all the cards shown on my pages meet this criteria.

There are Three Main Categories of Collectible Art Cards:

Open Edition -

These are prints/reproductions of artwork that have been printed in the standard card size. Open Editions can be printed and reprinted, depending on the demand for the card. There is no limit to how many will be sold or traded. Such cards are often a mini-print of a larger Original Artwork.

Limited Edition -

This type is also a print/reproduction, but in this instance the artist has placed a limit to how many cards will ever be printed and sold, or traded, in each edition. These cards are more valuable than Open Edition cards, because of the limited number of each card available in the World. Limited Edition Cards are normally numbered and signed on the back of the card.

Original Artwork -

This card is a unique piece of original artwork completed by the artist. It can be painted or drawn, but it will be 100% original and only one, of each such card, exists in the world. This type of card is naturally the most valuable.
